A list is your pool of prospects - the leads you want a campaign to reach out to. Before you can launch any campaign in Ornn, you need at least one list with leads in it. You can populate a list two ways: by uploading a CSV file, or by scraping leads directly from LinkedIn using one of Ornn's built-in sources. This article walks you through both.
📋 Before you begin
You're logged in to your Ornn account
For LinkedIn scraping: you've added at least one LinkedIn account
For CSV import: your file is ready with at least a name and LinkedIn profile URL column
1. Open the Settings Modal
From anywhere inside the Ornn dashboard, click the ⚙ Settings icon in the navigation. This opens the Settings modal where you manage your accounts, lists, and campaigns.
2. Go to the Lists Tab
Inside the Settings modal, click the Lists tab. Any existing lists will be shown here along with their lead counts and associated campaigns.
3. Create a New List
Click the Select Lists dropdown, then choose Create new list from the options. A name input field will appear - enter a descriptive name for your list (e.g. "SaaS Founders – UK" or "Event Attendees – March") then click the Add button to create it.
💡Use clear, specific names. You'll be selecting from these lists when setting up campaigns, so a descriptive name saves confusion later - especially if you're managing multiple clients.
4. Import Your Leads
Once your list is created, you'll be prompted to import leads into it. There are two ways to do this - choose the method that fits your workflow:
Method 1: CSV Upload
If you already have a list of leads in a spreadsheet or exported from another tool, CSV import is the fastest way to get them into Ornn.
Click the Upload CSV File button and select your file
Ornn will automatically attempt to map your CSV columns to its data fields (first name, last name, company, LinkedIn URL, etc.)
Review the column mapping and manually assign any columns that weren't auto-detected
Click Import Leads to confirm - your leads will be added to the list immediately
📋For best results, make sure your CSV has a LinkedIn profile URL column. This is the key identifier Ornn uses to match and enrich leads when a campaign starts.
Method 2: LinkedIn Scrape
Alternatively, scrape leads directly from LinkedIn using Ornn's built-in sources - no manual exporting required. Click the LinkedIn tab under Import Method, then follow these steps:
Open the Select LinkedIn Source dropdown and choose how you want to find leads. The available sources are: Post Reactors, People Search, Profile URLs, Event Attendees, Company Search
Select the LinkedIn account you want to use to perform the scrape - this is the account that will run the search on your behalf
Enter the Scraping URL for your query. If you're unsure what the URL should look like for your chosen source, click the View Example button next to the dropdown for a reference
Click Start Scraping - Ornn will begin scraping your query in the background
⏱Scraping duration varies depending on how many leads are in your query. You can navigate away - Ornn will continue in the background and notify you when it's done.
5. Review Your Imported Leads
When the import is complete, you'll see a success status message and your leads will appear in the list table.
✅Import complete - 9 leads successfully added to your list.
Here's what to expect in the table depending on the type of lead:
Leads you're already connected with on LinkedIn - will appear as full rows with complete profile details immediately
New leads (not yet connected) - will appear in the Leads Pending Campaign Start widget rather than as individual rows. Their full profile data will be fetched once a campaign begins and Ornn connects with them
ℹ️Don't worry if most of your new leads show in the "Leads Pending Campaign Start" widget - this is expected. Full lead data (company, title, profile picture) will be populated automatically once your campaign kicks off and Ornn begins outreach.
🎉Your list is ready!
Your leads are now imported and your list is ready to be assigned to a campaign. Head over to the Campaigns tab to put it to work.
